Cambodia Beaches

Accessible Cambodia's beaches All waterfronts are at the South China Sea and with at least a minimum of infrastructure are not many. The waterfronts are the best example that there is more in the country beside of temples monument and Phnom Penh.  Equally interesting is the vicinity just check the pages for day trips, Sre Ambel is almost 2 hours and Bokor National Park is a 3-hour ride along the coast from Sihanoukville. The main road is a hard one with asphalt and buses, big and small are driving along hourly. Actually, all this are at the 2 main roads from the coast to Phnom Penh.   Also the roads to the seafronts are real bad unless it is to the most popular at Sihanoukville there are only dirt roads. Even a tuk-tuk driver won't get you to one of the better China Sea fronts such as Otres beach because he would risk damaging his vehicle. Paklong Beach at Koh Kong This is Paklong waterfront close to the road from the Thai border to Koh Kong City . The main ro

Ochheuteal Beach

Ochheuteal Beach in Sihanoukville This is the top waterfront in Cambodia when counting visitors and infrastructure the hotels' & resorts plus apartments and restaurants. Bars nightlife and almost all activities to pull it together there are only 3 serious nightlife spots in Cambodia that are Phnom Penh were plenty of Khmer girls are available after it's Siem Reap but the life after darkness fell there is without women.  The Ochheuteal strip at Sihanoukville is somehow in between this two in terms of nightlife size and no pretty women available. Koh Kong can also offer a few clubs and discos catering mainly to the local people there are no tourists. The only foreigners around are daytripper for a visa run from Thailand and some other who are continuing to Phnom the next day on Thai visa matters.

Sokha Beach at Sihanoukville

Sokha Beach Resort at Sihanoukville is probably the best This is the waterfront of Sokha Beach in a small bay and seems to be a private one a real pretty spot at Cambodia's South China Sea. The place is probably the best in the south of the country related to the ocean. The hotel (book it here) has amazing similarities to the former Regent Hotel in Cha Am southeast of Bangkok.

Day Trips

When staying in one of the beach towns such as Sihanoukville, Koh Kong, Kampot and Kep the best to do is a a day trip into the "hinterland". Sre Ambel in the Cardamom Mountains and the incredible National Park of Bokor plus the wide tracts of paddy fields in between and more. A great nature at Koh Kong with canals into the jungle, waterfalls and spectacular rapids. There are for sure many "things to do" in south Cambodia. Great pristine waterfronts and untouched islands. Several travel agents at the locations offer what you like, including scuba diving and dirt biking plus trekking and more. The southern coast could be a attractive extension after roaming Angkor, temples and pagodas, maybe Phnom Penh and more. There are the insights into the real countryside with raw nature at cardamom mountains, waterfalls, bamboo jungle.
